School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Students First Day Back (K–6)

We look forward to welcoming students back for the start of the new school year.
Kindergarten First Week of School Photos
Date: Friday 13 February
Kindergarten students will have their first week of school photos taken to capture this special milestone.
Lunar New Year Lion Dance Ceremony
Date: Friday 20 February
Time: 9:30am
Our Lunar New Year Lion Dance Ceremony is a special cultural celebration for our school community. Students will enjoy a traditional lion dance performance as we recognise and celebrate Lunar New Year together.
HWPS Swimming Carnival
Date: Tuesday 24 February
Our annual Swimming Carnival will be held at Auburn Aquatic Centre, with students representing the school and participating in swimming events.
Schools Clean Up Australia Day
Date: Monday 3 March
Our school will take part in Schools Clean Up Australia Day to help care for our environment. Students will work together to clean up areas around the school and learn about the importance of sustainability and looking after our shared spaces.
International Women’s Day Morning Tea
Date: Tuesday 10 March
Time: 9:30am
Location: Homebush West Public School - Arts Centre
We would love our mothers, grandmothers, aunties, carers and special women in our students’ lives to join us for this celebration. It will be a lovely opportunity to come together, honour the women who inspire us, and enjoy a relaxed morning together.
Pulse Alive Performance
Date: Thursday 19 March
Students will participate in the Pulse Alive Performance, showcasing dance and choir items as part of this large-scale performance event.
